In Bucharest, Brancoveanu square is one of the few places which are populated by the "seniors" who live underground, many of them being past 20 years old. (2 of 9)

 
 

 

Here we meet Iulian and his wife Flori. They live underground for 10 years. (3 of 9)

 
 

 

Iulian, togheter with his friend Mihai, is introducing to us his "private" place underground, because everybody has his own property down there. (4 of 9)

 
 

 

Many foundations bring them food and different clothes to wear. Everybody are very sick. They receive medications but the "drug" is unreplaceable.One dose last for 10 minutes, and then they have to do it again. (5 of 9)

 
 

 

The result is that they have to inhall the drug all the time because the dependence is, both, physical and psychological. Some of them take one kilo a day and in the evening they are terminated. (6 of 9)

 
 

 

Many of them come from east (Moldavia) and know their family: separated, violent and alchoolic parents which forced them to leave their homes. (7 of 9)

 
 

 

Underground is very hot, because of the city hot water pipes and if they want to wash some clothes they use the pipes in order to dry the clothes. (8 of 9)

 
 

 

There is no light so they use candles received from churches. The local authorities have other important problems, so the life of those people will carry on underground of Bucharest. (9 of 9)
